Trials and tribulations of someone new to Chicago

There is great big city, on a great big lake, called Chicago. When the sun goes down, it is wide awake!

What's worse?

" New wounds that are painful, or old ones that never heal? Maybe our old wounds teach us something. They remind us where we have been and what we have over come. They teach us lessons about what to avoid in the future, or so we would think...... but that isn't the way it is....is it?"

What makes some lessons harder to learn? Why is it that we know the out come of situations based on things we have "over come" yet we still go into that situation? How many times do we actually have to learn?

I just have a lot of questions....not a lot of answers. I have a lot of thoughts going through my mind and have had a lack of ability to articulate said thoughts.

What is worse?

i would say that old wounds all eventually heal its just that some leave scars. so no matter what, we can never forget what happened. scars show character:-) it seems that i need to come to chicago for some quality mg time!

Truth is that we are stubborn and believe that what happened before won't happen again. It's also a little arrogant. While I would like to believe that the old scars teach us lessons, how often to we heed that advice? How often do we really learn?

But what may be worse is the alternative. If we live life afraid of being hurt, we end up with a shell built up around us. No one gets in or out. And that means that while we are safe from the perils of the world, we are never able to truly experience all that the world has to offer.

Just some thoughts,

SWAFF
